Mate with two rooks vs King
Practice until you can easily win with king and two rooks vs king.
- Check with both rooks from the sides. One rook prevents the king from moving towards you, while the other forces the king «up the stairs» with checks.
- When the king attacks one of the rooks, move to the other side or double the rooks.
In the exercises below, it is White to move and win. As an extra challenge, try calculating how many moves it takes to checkmate before playing.
