Trade when Ahead
Trade when you’re ahead, avoid trades when you’re behind!
Exchanging pieces when you are ahead is a good idea that provides simple and concrete objectives on the path to victory.
Example: You’re ahead by three pawns and trade off all the other pieces. In the end, you’re left with a king and three pawns against a king, and with a few exceptions, it’s an easy win.
We’ll look into exchanging pieces and important exceptions in Modules 2, 3, and 4.
